Constructing hierarchical structure via in situ growth of CNT in SiO2-coated carbon foam for high-performance EMI shielding application

Carbonated melamine foam (CMF) with a three-dimensional (3D) inner connected network is considered as one of the promising candidates to fabricate electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding materials. To further improve EMI performance, CMF based hybrids structure by combination SiO2 and in-situ growth carbon nanotubes (CNT) have been synthesized for preparing polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) composite: [email protected]2-CNT/PDMS. Owing structural match between length CNT diameter holes in protected]2, relatively high electrical conductivity 50.43 S/m has achieved composite thickness 2 mm, which assures an excellent effectiveness (SET = 61.34 dB) frequency range from 8.2 12.4 GHz. Meanwhile, absorption (SEA 53.65 infers dominant performance because unique porous inter-connected conductive network, helps avoid secondary pollution. We hope this work can provide new route fabricating materials performance.
